For this oops-Halloween-Day episode, we watched and discussed the under-watched and under-discussed Amy Heckerling film Vamps. Yes, it's about vampires, but don't be scared -- they're cute lady vampires! And Wallace Shawn is there to protect you if things get too bitey. 

Y'all, our podcast webhost has a feature that writes AI show notes for us without us asking (this is not them), and I swear to God it's the dumbest, funniest thing ever -- just like the 2026 stoner-com The Wrong Girls, which Podbean's AI assures me is the subject of this "September" episode. 

At long last, we rewatched the 1984 romantic adventure movie Romancing the Stone and found that -- when travelling to a stereotypical 1984 Colombia, there's a lot to pack and unpack. But the good news is this: 1) it's still a madcap romp, 2) it's not Milo and Otis, and 3) it's still got sexy leads -- and yes, we're talking about Danny DeVito.

It's summertime in the American South and the 35th anniversary of the release of Fried Green Tomatoes. What were we to do but watch and discuss the 1991 movie, adapted from Fannie Flagg’s original novel, and eat its namesake food, in the very place that made it famous?So pull up a train car and settle in for a story — and if you get peckish, you can always swing by Juliette, Georgia to stop into the real Whistle Stop Cafe.

To celebrate her birth month, we finally called our mom back to the show -- just in time to talk about a movie that came out 55 years ago.

The sequel being imminent, it's become fashionable to revisit The Devil Wears Prada with a 2026 lens. So I guess that's technically what we're doing? I don't know; we watched the original 2006 movie The Devil Wears Prada, and this podcast episode is us talking about it.

To celebrate its 40-year anniversary -- and the 10-year anniversary of us somehow not covering the movie already whoops -- we brought back Amy Pascale, pHD (physician[?] on Howard Deutch), to discuss the beloved teen rom-com-dram Pretty in Pink.

After a decade of podcasting together, we take a moment to reflect back on the many things that have transpired since our first episode.
